Good Afternoon Families and Students of Room 73!
Happy Long Weekend!
This Week at School
In music we learned how to play hand drums, xylophones, and bar instruments. Students will being playing precorders near the end of the month. Today an ORANGE sheet was sent home with the students, with information regarding purchasing precorders and books. Please have these returned by Monday October 17.
In gym this week we played What Time is it Mr. Wolf? and Blob tag. We also did Yoga in the gym with Ms. Thomas' class.
In math we started making mini math books. These will be stories about a visit to the grocery store which will also include math pictures and graphs to represent our purchases.
We also got the chance to finish up our Social Studies flip books about Canada, as well as our Zentangle leaves, which will be coming home today, along with our Thankfulness Art project.
In Science, we had Ms. Thomas's class join us in a mini experiment with Ms. Overdevest's guitar. We changed the pitch by tightening and loosening the strings. Next week we will be working more with sound and expanding our science vocabulary.
We did a pitch test on our ears as well...we couldn't believe our ears when we could no longer hear! Here is the link to show your family, if you would like. ***TURN YOUR VOLUME TO THE LOWEST POSSIBLE BEFORE STARTING.
The video will give you prompts as to when to turn your volume down as well.

We ended Thursday by reading our Random Acts of Kindness nominations. This is one of our favourite parts of the week, as we love hearing all the kind things that happen in our classroom. We also talked about all the things that we are thankful for and created a Fall project that will be brought home today.
Today was also our last day of inline skating!
Have a great long weekend and Happy Thanksgiving!
From,
Ms Overdevest and the Students of Room 73.
